expensive timepieces, haute horology are not about functions...
if you want functions, you get a Casio. you can have all the functions you want there, calculator, altimeter, thermometer, barometer, compass, chrono, perpetual calendar, tidegraph, 29 timezones/48 cities, multiple alarms etc etc etc. [note this is not lookin at it from the standpoint of the artistry or artisanship of creating a mechanical sonnerie or repeater or grand complication etc just from a functional standpoint] 8 day or 31 day power reserve? how about a 5 or more years of power reserve in your quartz watch with one battery change :)
accuracy? you're kidding right... if you buy an expensive mechanical watch to reflect accurate time, there are many watches that are far, far cheaper that can be as accurate or even much more accurate(eg. good quality quartz or the casios that synchronise thru radio signals with atomic clocks ~ expected to neither gain nor lose a second in more than 138 million years LINK read the wiki on atomic clocks too to find out about cesium atoms and mind boggling crap for accuracy for those chronometric freaks out there LINK HERE)

is time telling the final fig leaf? the one minimum function that is needed? it is for me... there are some watches out there that don't even give u the time and those make no sense to me at all. at least that one key function please! :) sure we can tell time from our iphone, from our computer screens at work and clocks all around but it's not the same is it... to have to look at the aesthetic beauty of a wonderful designed watch on your wrist when u want the time or something with sentimental significance vs seeing soul-less digital numbers informing u of the passage of time and of life...
so what are expensive watches about? it is male jewelry... cool male accessories. Face it, guys don't have much to play around with right. nice shoes... they are nice but not critical for me. pricey belts? uhm nope, they keep my pants up. upmarket phone? how exciting is a pricy gold or blingy phone? an iphone or samsung as common as they are, are cool! lux cars are a whole other ballgame but let's not go there and you can't carry your car with you of course!

so why all this talk before pics of some amazing timepieces? cause i feel like it, is why (my blog and all) and because i feel like i've repeated it a bit oft late... the accuracy question gets posed to my via email a bit at times too...
but without further ado... watches that DO show you have $$$...that you have taste and that you, yes you dear sir n madame, are clearly a connoisseur!
i do so love mb&f horological creations. they are horological art and machines with soul. some of the reasons you look to your wrist to tell the time and can't look away but enjoy the beauty of it... this latest one with sarpaneva is hand on my heart, not my favoritest of their lineup as sarpaneva's work does not call to me, but is still pretty fine acquisition for the dude/dudette, with the moolah, that it resonates with.
